Lamar Student Wins Design Contest

A student in Meridian won a big honor. Her design will be on a t-shirt that will help other kids.

Lamar School fourth grader, Madison Norris, was announced as the winner of the Anderson Cup Road Race T-Shirt Contest.

Madison's design will adorn the t-shirt for this year's race.

More than a thousand students entered the contest.
Norris' design was chosen from 25 finalists.

All the proceeds from the t-shirt sales will go to help pediatric patients at Anderson Hospital.

"I designed this t-shirt because I wanted people to get better, and I wanted to see them get better," said Madison.

"Not only does it call for their creativity for their drawing and participation, but we also want them to participate in an event of this nature, to be able to come out and start building a healthy lifestyle at such a young age," said Peg Campana of Anderson Health and Fitness Center.

This year's Anderson Cup Road Race will be Saturday, Apr. 6, starting at the Anderson North Campus.
