Accessing the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library is a lot easier for those of you with eReaders.
The library has launched a new e-books website where you may download books from the online catalog to your Kindle, iPad, Nook, or other eReader device.
The library books will automatically check back in on the due date, eliminating late fees.
The books are free for those who have a current library card.
"You need to be a registered library patron in good standing, meaning you have no outstanding debts to the library," said Steve McCartney, library director. "You have to have a current library card, and you will have needed to establish a pin number for your account, just like you would your debit card."
Library officials say those with a current library card who don't have a PIN may get one by calling the circulation desk at 601-693-6771, ext. 223. If you already have a PIN for other services, you may use that one for e-books.
To access the e-library, go to the library's website (a link is provided below) and click on 'Free E-Books'.
