MCC Hosts Honors Orientation

Meridian Community College hosted its first freshmen orientation leading up to the fall semester.

This session was for honor students who scored 20 and higher above on the ACT.

Students were able to complete their applications for admission, meet with their advisers and get their fall schedules, plus get a tour of the campus.

"Most of these students have decided on a program of study and they know what they want to major in," said Soraya Welden, dean of student services. "This gives them a chance to make a schedule that's more conducive to their personal schedule, select the teachers and the times that will work best for them and also give them an idea of how much it's going to cost."

Welden says you shouldn't delay in applying for student aid or scholarships. MCC's fall semester begins in August.
