Pajama Day Benefits Relay for Life

Students at Clarkdale Attendance Center took part in a Pajama Day Friday to benefit Lauderdale County Relay for Life.

Students paid $2 to get to wear their pajamas instead of their school uniforms. The money goes to the American Cancer Society event for cancer research.

Students say this is an especially important issue for them.

"Our school, personally, we have a lot of people who deal with this.

"We have a teacher, Mrs. Cammie Heard, whose been struggling with this for 17 years," said Cash Matlock, sophomore. "And then we have our softball coach, Rick Roberson, who also has it. And we have a 6th grader, whose battling leukemia, and she's in remission right now."

Relay for Life will be Friday, May 4, 2012, at Meridian High School's Ray Stadium.
