School Counts Comes to MHS

A recruiting meeting for School Counts was held Monday at Meridian High School for sophomores interested in taking part in the School Counts program.

School Counts is designed to encourage behavior at school that will help students be successful when they begin working.

Students who meet the criteria will get preference in interviews and hiring for temporary and summer jobs at more than a hundred local businesses.

"Essentially, this program encourages being present, being on time, doing good work, completing the job, whatever that job is, and also getting along with your peers and supervisors," said Duffee Williams of School Counts.

Students in Lauderdale County Schools also participate in the School Counts program.

If the people having kids were actual parents who were involved in their children's lives... they wouldn't need programs like this. Just because you can reproduce doesn't mean you should. Stop breeding like cats and become responsible parents!
