Taylor Addresses Rotary Club

Meridian, Miss. The superintendent of Meridian Public Schools gave his annual address to the Rotary Club about the state of the school district.

Superintendent Dr. Alvin Taylor talked about accountability results and strategies moving forward for next year.

"Letting the community know where the district stands and what we need to do to move forward and what the community and parents can do to help the district move forward," said Taylor.

The district's overall accountability level fell from a C to a D and test scores fell one point to 138.

But Taylor says he is happy with the vertical movement in the past couple of years, compared to where the district used to be.
