Stuff the Bus Set for July 24th

Meridian, Mississippi The United Way of East Mississippi is holding its fourth annual "Stuff the Bus" drive for Meridian and Lauderdale County Public Schools on July 24th. School supplies and new or gently used school uniforms will be accepted, as well as monetary donations. These donations will allow United Way to purchase kits for the students, which will include the necessary supplies needed for them to go back to school.

"There are some schools that have 98% that qualify for free and reduced lunches," said Savannah Ward of the United Way. "If they can't even afford lunches, they obviously can't afford school supplies and uniforms, so we are just trying to do everything we can to help the children out."

The drive will take place in Dumont Plaza in downtown Meridian from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 24th.
