Erik Haw ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns and Jackson State won its third straight game with a 32-20 victory over Alabama State on Saturday.
Jackson State (3-2, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference) got first-quarter touchdown runs of 6 and 1 yards from Haw to take a 14-6 halftime lead.
Eric Perri added three field goals in to second half to push Jackson State's lead to 23-12 early in the fourth quarter.
Alabama State (4-2, 3-2) rallied when Alex Engram hit Fred Ragsdale with both a 12-yard touchdown pass and a 2-point conversion pass to pull within 23-20 with 7:50 left.
But Haw ripped off a 66-yard touchdown run to seal the win and help Jackson State remain the only unbeaten team in the SWAC's East Division.
Jackson State finished with 285 yards rushing while holding Alabama State to 187 total yards.
The loss was Alabama State's second straight after opening the season 4-0 under new coach Reggie Barlow.
