The Clarion-Ledger released its 2007 Boys Dandy Dozen on Friday. Three area basketball players made the cut.
Kenneth Barlow, a senior from Scott Central, averaged a double-double (19.6 point per game / 10.4 rebounds per game) last year while leading the Rebels to the Class 2A state championship. The 2007 Mississippi High School all-star is being recruited by Arkansas as well as several other smaller Division I schools.
Romero Osby is entering his senior season at Northeast Lauderdale, where he averaged 24 points and 11 rebounds per game last season. The defensive MVP of the 2007 Mississippi High School all-star game has committed to play for Rick Stansbury at Mississippi State in 2008. Osby was heavily recruited by a number of top collegiate basketball programs.
Shaunessy Smith, the only junior named to this year's Dandy Dozen, averaged 19 points per game last year for Noxubee County. Although he still has another year of high school ball, Smith is being recruited by by a couple of SEC schools.
