20-year-old Drexler Johnson is charged in connection with a burglary at Cooley's Drug Store in Waynesboro.
Johnson was taken into custody this week after officers say they noticed a parked truck with a bloody cloth and bag inside it. They say at least four firearms were also discovered inside the vehicle.
Investigators say eight other firearms, including two assault rifles, and a stolen handgun from the drug store were discovered at the residence where Johnson was arrested.
Last year, as a senior quarterback, Johnson was recognized as a Mississippi "Dandy Dozen" player.
