Last year, the Newton County football team's longest winning streak was two games. In fact, those were the only two games the Cougars won in '06.
After splitting their first two games this year, NCHS has reeled off 6 straight victories.
Their 9-0 win over Heidelberg last Friday was enough to propel the Cougars into the top spot in this week's Associated Press Class 3A rankings.
