Ashley Wins Fall Classic At Whynot

David Ashley "The Louisiana Lightning" of Zachary
Louisiana took the lead on lap 20, and held off all challengers
throughout the race in front of a packed house Saturday night, winning
the 13th Annual B & K Underground Fall Classic100 at Whynot Motorsports
Park.

The Super Late Model feature race got underway with five time World
100 winner "Mr. Smooth" Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR battling door to
door with "The Intimigator" Chris Wall of Holden, LA.

Wall and Moyer swapped the lead lap after lap for the first seven
laps until Wall took the lead on lap eight.

David Ashley got by Moyer on lap 12 and reeled in race leader Wall
by lap 18.

Ashley muscled his way by Wall taking the lead on lap 20, as the
two battled side by side on lap 33, Wall breifly led lap 34 as Ashley
regained the lead on lap 35. Wall made one last attempt on Ashley as the
two raced side by side on lap 70, but couldn't complete the pass
giving Ashley his first Fall Classic 100 win. Wall finished second, Mike
Marlar third, Mike Boland fourth, and Jason Smith fifth.

Meridian's Jim McDuffie was the hard charger of the race coming
from 21st to finish sixth.

Wall Lead all qualifying with a 13.403 Friday night over a stellar
field of 54 Super Late Models representing eight different states. A
total of 182 cars lined the pits for this weekends Fall Classic.

In other action, Chad Thrash of Collinsville appeared to be the
winner of the Crate Late Model feature until he failed to pass tech
inspection giving the win to Meridian's Randy King for his first Crate
Late Model feature win of the season.

Shay Knight of Columbus led flag to flag winning the UMP modified
feature. Jeffery Walker of Whynot won a thrilling Street Stock feature
that saw numerous lead changes all the way to the end. Brian Quinn of
Meridian won the Mini Stock feature. And James "Biscuit Elfring and
Sarah Mercer won the Two Man Cruiser feature.

Race fans Rodney Wing and staff would like to thank all the Drivers,
Race Fans and Sponors for making the 2007 racing season a huge success.
With more facility improvements in the works and more big events being
