Jeremy Young and Ed Morgan connected on two touchdown passes in the game-clinching second quarter as Southern Miss beat Alabama-Birmingham 37-7 Saturday.
Young, in his first start since spraining his ankle on September 27th against Boise State, passed for 95 yards and rushed for 58 in the win.
The Golden Eagles scored 27 points in the second quarter for their eighth straight win over the Blazers.
The previous games in the series were decided by less than 10 points.
Young's passes of 4 and 36 yards to Morgan helped blow open the game.
Morgan finished with three catches for 47 yards.
Tory Harrison added a 4-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Justin Estes connected on two of his three field goals to give Southern Miss a 30-0 halftime lead.
Damion Fletcher tacked on a touchdown in the third quarter.
The win kept Southern Miss in the chase for the Conference USA East Division title.
