Ulysses Banks scored two touchdowns to lead Alabama A&M to a 24-20 win over Alcorn State on Saturday.
Alabama A&M (8-2, 6-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference) took an early led in the first quarter when Banks scored from three yards out.
Alcorn State (2-7, 2-6) answered less than a minute later when Tony Hobson connected with Antonio DeJarnette on a 15-yard touchdown pass. But the Braves just couldn't pull things together. Alcorn was called for nine penalties and fumbled the ball twice.
Alabama took the lead for good when Banks ran 16 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Alabama couldn't manage to score in the second half. Alcorn came within four points in the fourth quarter when Channia Pugh scored on a short pass from Chris Walker.
Banks rushed 22 times for 96 yards.
