Mississippi State will become the first Southeastern Conference team to visit Middle Tennessee State at Floyd Stadium in 2009.
The game, part of a home-and-home series announced today (Thursday) between the schools, will mark the third straight year a team from one of the six Bowl Championship Series conferences has made the trip to Murfreesboro.
The series will begin in 2008 with the Blue Raiders traveling to Starkville on October 25th. The Bulldogs will come to Murfreesboro on October 17th, 2009.
The two schools have played twice in Starkville in 1999 and 2000, with the Bulldogs beating the Blue Raiders twice.
The 1999 game was the Blue Raiders' first game after stepping up to the Football Bowl Subdivision, formerly Division I-A.
