Andrew Henke scored 17 points as Air Force defeated Mississippi Valley State 58-40 Friday in the opening game of the Cougar Hispanic College Fund Challenge.
The Falcons built commanding leads in each half by holding Valley to 24 percent shooting in the game. Tim Anderson added 14 points, as the Falcons shot 56 percent from the field.
Carl Lucas scored 18 points and was the only player in double figures for the Delta Devils.
Air Force took a 21-6 lead in the first half behind 11 points by Henke. The Falcons held Mississippi Valley State to one field goal in the opening 12 minutes.
