Mississippi State will play in a bowl game for the first time since 2000 and Sunday it was announced that the Dogs will compete in the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl.
State's 7-5 season earned them the right to play Conference USA champion Central Florida on December 29.
It's the school's 13th postseason appearance overall.
The Bulldogs have been to the Liberty Bowl twice. Once in 1963 and most recently in 1991, when they helped set an attendance record of nearly 61,500.
