The New Orleans Saints (7-8) are on the verge of missing the playoffs following a 38-23 home loss to Philadelphia.

Donovan McNabb carried the Eagles' offense, completing 24 of his 35 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns. He also fumbled at the end of a 40-yard scramble on the game's third play, but it turned into points when Eagles receiver Kevin Curtis recovered it in the end zone.

Curtis grabbed six passes for 78 yards and a touchdown, while Bryant Westbrook had 100 rushing yards for the 7-and-8 Eagles.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees (breez) threw for 289 yards and a touchdown, but lost top receiver Marques Colston to a chest contusion in the first half.

Aaron Stecker scored the Saints' two touchdowns on short runs in the first half. However, New Orleans was held to 65 yards on 18 carries while the Eagles ran for 184 yards.
