Nutt Hires Another Nix

Three weeks after hiring former South Carolina defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix, Houston Nutt has added Nix's younger brother to the Ole Miss football staff.

Derrick Nix is coming back to the collegiate game after spending one year in the pros. Most recently, the former Southern Miss running back served as an offensive assistant and quality control coach for the Atlanta Falcons.

Prior to that post, Nix was the running backs coach at his alma mater.

Derrick Nix's Resume
2007 - Offensive Assistant and Quality Control Coach (Atlanta Falcons)
2005-06 - Running Backs Coach (Southern Miss)
2004 - Tight Ends Coach (Southern Miss)
2003- Graduate Assistant (Southern Miss)

While he added one coach Wednesday, Nutt lost another. Louis Campbell, a former Arkansas coach, was named as a member of the Ole Miss staff on December 21, but has decided instead to make the move to rival Mississippi State.

Campbell's role on Sylvester Croom's staff has not yet been announced. He and his new boss coached together at Alabama and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
