Coach Sylvester Croom says two defensive backs and one linebacker are leaving Mississippi State's football roster.
He says today (Thursday) defensive backs Demario Bobo and Keon Humphreys and linebacker Anthony Littlejohn are departing. All three had one year of eligibility left to play for the team.
Croom says the departures are due to the veterans likely not projecting to be able to make the 70-man dress roster this fall. In meetings this week Croom says he discussed the issue with each player.
Croom says he thinks at least one, if not two, will return to the program as volunteer student coaches. He says all three will stay in school and work toward their degrees.
