Dominique Archie scored 20 points, including a 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds left to play, to help South Carolina upset No. 24 Mississippi 80-77 Saturday.
Devan Downey, who led the Gamecocks (11-10, 2-5 Southeastern Conference) with 25 points, capped the win with a pair of technical foul free throws with 1.1 left.
Dwayne Curtis had 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Rebels (16-4, 3-4),
Ole Miss lost at home for the first time in 11 games. Chris Warren and Zach Graham had 14 points apiece and David Huertas had 13 for the Rebels.
Huertas hit a three-point shot that gave Ole Miss a 77-75 lead with 1:25 left. South Carolina forced another miss by the Rebels with 39 seconds left and got the final decisive shot by Archie.
The Rebels hurried to the front court for a final shot, but Warren stepped out of bounds with just over a second to play.
