Notre Dame's dismal 3 and 9 record last season did little to diminish its luster among top prep school recruits. The Fighting Irish were joined by Miami and Alabama as school that did well on the first day of the signing period for high school players.
Notre Dame landed highly regarded quarterback prospect Dayne Christ from Sherman Oaks, California, along with receiver Michael Floyd from St. Paul and tight end Kyle Rudolph from Cincinnati.
Miami coach Randy Shannon has landed offensive lineman Ben Jones and Brandon Washington along with receivers Tommy Streeter and Kendal Thompkins from Northwestern High in Miami. They are expected to be joined by three other players from their 30 and 0 high school team.
Alabama landed Julio Jones from Foley, Alabama, who's considered one of the top receivers in the country.
