Mississippi State football coach Sylvester Croom says junior linebacker Jamon Hughes has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
Croom said Thursday in a news release that Hughes was suspended for a violation of team rules. He did not say what the violation was.
Croom said Hughes will continue to workout and practice with the team through spring drills and the penalty will go into affect in the fall 2008.
Hughes signed with Mississippi State in 2006 after playing at Humphreys County High School in Rolling Fork.
