Mississippi State fans from all over flocked to Starkville where its football team hosted "Fan Day" in the Palmeiro Center, the school's indoor practice facility.
Fans waited in long lines to get photos taken with coaches, players (such as Meridian's own Tyler Russell), Bully the bulldog mascot, and of course, the Golden Egg trophy. The event also marked the one-thousandth consecutive day the trophy has resided in Starkville. There it will remain until the two teams meet in the 2012 edition of the Egg Bowl on November 24th.
One of the coaches on hand to meet and greet with Bulldog faithful was new Wide Receivers coach Tim Brewster. Brewster, who's previous stops include the Universities of North Carolina, Texas, Minnesota and The San Diego Chargers, replaced Angelo Mirando, who resigned earlier this week in light of NCAA investigations of the recruitment of freshman defensive back Will Redmond.
