Carl Edwards took the checkered flag at Texas Motor Speedway for his series-best third win of the Sprint Cup season. He held off two-time defending series champion Jimmie Johnson on a two-lap overtime sprint to the finish.
It's Edwards' first victory since his team was accused of cheating following his win last month in Las Vegas.
Johnson was second as Hendrick Motorsports remained winless through the first seven races of the season.
After winning the Nationwide Series race Saturday, Kyle Busch was strong early but had nothing for Edwards in the end and faded to third.
Jeff Burton retained his hold atop the points standings by finishing sixth.
Pole-sitter Dale Earnhardt Junior never challenged and finished a lap down in 12th place to remain winless since May of 2006.
