Atlanta Falcons linebacker Michael Boley signed a contract tender from the team, taking him off free agent market.
Boley, a fifth-round pick in 2005 from Southern Miss, has developed into one of the team's most reliable defensive players.
Last season, he had a career-best 110 tackles, including three sacks. He also forced three fumbles, had two interceptions and broke up seven passes.
The Falcons had placed a first-round tender on Boley at the start of free agency. That meant Boley could seek offers from other teams but Atlanta would have gotten a first-round pick in this month's draft if it refused to match any deal.
On Wednesday, Boley signed the tender offer, terms of which were not immediately available.
