Southern Miss Completes Sweep

Chris Matesich had three hits, an RBI and a run scored as Southern Miss on Sunday completed the weekend sweep of Arkansas St. 6-3.

Kyle Maxie added in a three-for-four afternoon with two runs scored. Starting Southern Miss (23-11) pitcher David Clark (3-4) left in the sixth with an injury, after he had thrown five innings, allowing only four hits.

Tyler Conn worked 2 1/3 innings, entering the game with the tying run at second base in the seventh inning, and recorded his NCAA-leading 12th save of the season.

The Arkansas St. Indians (15-21) rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning before Conn entered the game and struck out Jett Jones (1-6) on second.
