Cisco limited the Rebels from scoring on Friday until the sixth inning, improving to 5-1 on the year for the win. Cisco allowed just one run on eight hits, striking out three and walking two batters.
Lance Lynn suffered the loss for Mississippi (24-14, 9-7 Southeastern Conference) and is now 5-1 on the year. He allowed six runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work.
Justin Smoak's four hits led the way for the Gamecocks (28-10, 10-6), with Darnell and Whit Merrifield finishing with two apiece. Mississippi got two hits from both Tim Ferguson and Brett Basham.
