South Carolina's Blake Cooper pitched a complete game to lead the Gamecocks to a 4-1 win over Mississippi on today (Sunday).
South Carolina (29-11, 11-7 Southeastern Conference) won two of three in the weekend series against the Rebels (25-15, 10-8).
Phil Disher went 2-for-4, including a two-run single in the first, and Whit Merrifield and Justin Smoak also had two hits apiece for the Gamecocks, who led 4-0 after two innings.
Zach Miller had two of Ole Miss' six hits. Cody Overbeck had the only run for the Rebels on a ninth inning homer. One more runner got on base before Cooper (5-3) closed out the game .
Cody Satterwhite (3-3) allowed eight hits and four runs in six innings to pick up the loss.
