HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- James Ewing's pinch-hit double in the sixth inning broke a 3-3 tie to give Southern Miss to a 4-3 victory over Houston on Saturday.
Tyler Conn picked up his nation-leading 15th save for the Golden Eagles (30-13, 8-6 Conference USA). Conn allowed only one hit and struck out two.
Southern Miss got only four hits in the game. The biggest one came on a three-run home run by Bo Davis in the second inning.
Jake Stewart tied the game at three with a two-run home run in the sixth inning for Houston (26-16, 8-6 C-USA).
