TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Michael Grant, who was formerly a coach at Southern University, has been officially named as the new leader of Stillman's men's basketball team.
Athletics director Curtis Campbell announced the new hire over the weekend, saying Grant brings credibility and experience to the post.
Grant is a native of Ohio and comes to Stillman after a 2003 to 2005 stint at Southern where his teams were 26-31 during his tenure at the Louisiana school
Before Southern, Grant coached for seven seasons at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, where he had an overall record of 126-94.
Grant takes over for Tim Waller, who was dismissed in March following his second season with the school.
A news conference to officially introduce Grant to the public is scheduled for Thursday.
