Ole Miss defensive back Jamariey Atterberry was dismissed from the football team for “breaking team rules,” according to a release sent by the university.

Atterberry, a former Kosciusko High star who ranked No. 6 on The Clarion-Ledger’s 10 Most Wanted in 2006, did not play as a true freshman and was redshirted.

Atterberry (5-10, 182 pounds) would have likely provided depth in the secondary next season and had a team-high five tackles for the Red team in the spring Grove Bowl on Apr. 12.
