LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- Sawyer Carroll had four hits and knocked in six runs to lead Kentucky to a 12-4 win over Mississippi on Thursday night.
Carroll smacked two doubles and hit his 15th homer of the season for the Wildcats (40-14, 15-13 Southeastern Conference), who have now won six straight games. Ryan Wilkes added three hits and two RBI as Kentucky took an early 5-0 lead and cruised.
Chris Rusin (6-2) allowed three runs -- two earned -- in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the win.
Cody Overbeck had three hits for Ole Miss (33-21, 14-14) and Jordan Henry, Fuller Smith and Michael Guerrero had two hits apiece for the Rebels.
Lance Lynn (6-3) took the loss, giving up eight runs in 3 1/3 innings. The two teams meet again on Friday.
