OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi will probably need to retool its pitching staff after three right-handers were taken Thursday in the first 75 picks of the Major League Baseball draft.
Ole Miss' career strikeouts leader Lance Lynn was taken 39th overall by the St. Louis Cardinals in the supplemental round that follows the first round.
The Detroit Tigers chose Cody Satterwhite with the 67th pick and Southeastern Conference strikeout leader Scott Bittle went to the New York Yankees with the 75th pick.
The 50-round draft is being held Thursday and Friday at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. More prospects from the state are expected to be taken as the draft unfolds.
