TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama forward Richard Hendrix won't return for his senior season, but Ronald Steele will.
Hendrix said Monday he will remain in the NBA draft. He could have pulled his name out and returned to school because he had yet to sign with an agent.
Gottfried said he will support Hendrix and that the player always represented Alabama with class. Hendrix was the Crimson Tide's leading scorer and rebounder last season.
Steele, meanwhile, pulled his name out of the draft.
He missed last season following arthroscopic surgery on both knees, but was a preseason AP All-American in 2006. He already has a degree in financial planning.
Steele will play with his brother Andrew next season.
