Major expansion is coming at the newest recreation park in Lauderdale County.
The board of supervisors Monday approved advertising for bids for that expansion at Q.V.Sykes Park.
The main component of the initial expansion will be two or three Pee Wee football fields, to allow for a league in this area.
Officials say dirt work on the expansion should begin soon. District 4 supervisor, Joe Norwood, said he's excited about the future of the park.
Norwood says there are plans to eventually expand the park even more, including things like volleyball courts, a playground, and a splash pad.
