Ole Miss defensive linemen Greg Hardy and Peria Jerry are two of the 75 players named to the watch list for the 14th Chuck Bednarik Award, which is given to the nation's top defensive player.
Hardy, a 6-foot-4, 265-pound junior, topped the Southeastern Conference with 10 sacks last season, which also ranked sixth nationally.
Jerry, a 6-2, 290-pound senior, started all 12 games at defensive tackle in 2007 and ranked sixth in the SEC in tackles for a loss with 14.
Penn State's Dan Connor won the Bednarik Award last season. He now plays for the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
