Mike Boland of Cuba, AL driving the Boland performance Trak Star race
cars, picked up his first MSCCS Super Late Model win of the season
Saturday night in front of a capacity crowd at Whynot Motorsports Park.
As the race began David Breazeale of Four Corners lead the early going
until Shep Lucas and Scott Slay of Jackson motored by Breazeale in a
side by side battle for the lead on lap seven.
Lucas took the lead on lap eight and 12th starting Mike Boland took
over second from Slay on lap nine.
By lap 13 the leaders were dealing with lapped traffic as Boland and
Slay swapped positions several times as Boland would regain secure
second on lap 24 setting his sights on the leader Lucas.
Boland grabbed the lead from Lucas on lap 27 as Slay followed in second.
Slay kept pace with Boland battling lapped traffic but could never get
close enough to challenge for the lead as Slay finished second. MSCCS
points leader David Ashley of Zachary, LA charged from 14th to finish
third. Bub McCool of Vicksburg finished 4th and Shep Lucas finished fifth.
David Breazeale won the Dash and set fast time among 31 Super Late
Models with a 13.230.
Rodney Wing of Meridian won the first of two MSCCS B mains, while Bub
McCool won the second B main.
Kyle Rutledge of Whynot got his second double double of the season
winning the Open Wheel Modified feature and the Street Stock feature.
Tim Rutledge finished second with Ben Stephens third in the Open Wheel
David James finished second with Jody Walters racing his way to a third
place finish after starting eighth in the Street Stock feature.
Jennifer Shelton picked up a nice Birthday present winning the Mini
Stock feature over Bill Bunyard and Brian Quinn.
Jamie Mazingo won the Stinger feature over Chris Woodham and Robi Dearing.
Randy and Nickie Ward won the Cruiser feature.
