Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL union executive director Gene Upshaw has died of pancreatic cancer at age 63. Upshaw spent his entire 15-year playing career with the Oakland Raiders, winning two Super Bowls and earning seven Pro Bowl appearances. He had been head of the union for the past 25 years, guiding players through the 1987 strike and later establishing free agency for his constituents.
