Jackson State Loses Two Key Players

Jackson State has lost cornerback Jeremy Pierce, and receiver Rodney Gray is out for the season after having suffered injuries in the Tigers' 17-13 loss to Hampton on Sunday.

Pierce suffered a broken collarbone in the first quarter. Gray suffered an ACL injury.

Jackson State coach Rick Comegy says Pierce will be replaced by junior Marcell Young, a Hinds Community College transfer.

With Gray out, Comegy says freshman Keenan Tillman, Louisiana Tech transfer Brian Jackson, freshman Marsellos Wilder and walk-on Rashad Smith will all see playing time.

Jackson State hosts Stillman on Saturday.
