Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora says former receiver Torris Magee has been charged with residential burglary.
Fedora made that announcement Monday at his weekly news conference. He said Magee left the team last Thursday, a day before his arrest.
Magee was arrested by police behind a Hattiesburg apartment complex near the location of the burglary after leading police on a foot chase. Police say Magee entered a house and stole property. He's now charged with one count of residential burglary.
Magee, a sophomore, had 10 receptions this season for 86 yards, but was Southern Miss' leading pass catcher in 2007 with 44 receptions and 632 receiving yards.
