The Southwestern Athletic Conference has suspended two officials for their actions during the Mississippi Valley State-Jackson State game.
Commissioner Duer Sharp said Wednesday the two officials did not meet the league's standards during last Saturday's game. SWAC spokesman Duane Lewis declined to release the suspended officials' names.
Jackson State was penalized 17 times for 165 yards and whistled for eight personal fouls. Mississippi State was called for five penalties.
At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Jackson State was called for a personal foul after a first-down play. After an incomplete pass, the officials moved the chains to set up second-and-10, according to the Jackson Clarion Ledger.
Jackson State settled for a 49-yard field goal.
