STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Jarvis Varnado scored 14 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and blocked eight shots to lead Mississippi State to an 84-58 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday night in the Legends Classic.
Varnado extended his season block total to 31 and broke his school record for career blocked shots with 255.
The Bulldogs (4-0) scored 21 points off of 19 Fairleigh Dickinson turnovers and shot 50.4 percent from the field (30 of 59) including nine 3-pointers.
Mississippi State has won all four of its games this season by more than 20 points and has yet to trail. This is the first time the Bulldogs have been 4-0 since the 2003-2004 season when the team started 13-0 and won the Southeastern Conference regular-season title.
The Knights (0-3), led by Cameron Tyler with a game-high 16 points, hit only 16 of 66 shots and finished 5-of-21 from behind the arc.
