Mississippi State men's basketball coach Rick Stansbury has been diagnosed with a viral infection and remains in a Tupelo hospital as his team prepares for Thursday's game at Cincinnati.
Stansbury has been in the hospital since Sunday night after suffering severe headaches and flu-like symptoms.
It's unclear whether Stansbury will be out of the hospital in time to coach the Bulldogs in the SEC/Big East Challenge.
Associate head coach Robert Kirby will lead the team until Stansbury returns, athletic department officials said Tuesday.
