The Q.V. Sykes Baseball Complex will be ready for action in a state tournament next week. That work came today from county engineer Neal Carson.
"We're going to play ball out there July the 11th at 10:00 a.m. and we're back out there this morning and we're going to make it," said Carson.
There had been concern that recent flooding damage and frequent rain since then, had put the fields and access road in too poor a condition to be used.
The road will not be black-topped in time, but Carson said it will be serviceable.
