Fans who can't wait for the start of the John Cohen coaching era at Mississippi State have had their wait shortened by 60 minutes courtesy of Mother Nature. With consideration for anticipated chilly overnight temperatures this weekend, the opening day game times for the season-opening BankFirst Baseball Challenge at Dudy Noble Field have been moved up.
Mississippi State's 119th baseball season-opener has been reset for 5 p.m. Friday as the Bulldogs usher in the new season against the Northern Illinois Huskies. The opening game of the three-day, six-game BankFirst Baseball Challenge between Northern Illinois and the University of North Florida Ospreys will now start at 1 p.m.
A single game ticket will admit fans to see both games of each day's session of the BankFirst Baseball Challenge, and are available through the MSU Athletic Ticket Office (662-325-2600 /
www.MStateAthletics.com/tickets). Live video streaming of all four MSU opening weekend games will also be available online at no cost on MSU's premium web site extension, Maroon to the Max. More information regarding 2009 Diamond Dog baseball on M2M will be released later this week.
Ceremonies commemorating Cohen's return to Mississippi State and his first game as Bulldog skipper are scheduled prior to the start of Friday's 5 p.m. game.
