STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Florida and Mississippi State are in desperation mode as they meet today as the fading Gators chase the SEC East division title and the swooning Bulldogs make a late push to earn a SEC tournament first-round bye.
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- William Carey's men's basketball season ended last night with a 78-63 loss to Mobile in the first round of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference tournament. Brock Dockery scored 24 points for Mobile. Marcus Spann led Carey with 21 points.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Southern Miss center fielder Bo Davis will miss at least a couple of weeks because to a torn meniscus in one knee. A four-year starter, Davis is hitting .464 with the homers and 11 RBIs in seven games.
UNDATED (AP) -- Bianca Thomas of Ole Miss and Alexis Rack of Mississippi State have been named to the eight-member All-Southeastern Conference women's basketball first team in a vote of league coaches.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Jeremy Travis hit a three-run home run to lead Ole Miss to a 11-5 victory over Arkansas State yesterday.
