Maurice Langston, a junior college transfer defensive back from East Central Community College in Decatur, has been suspended indefinitely from Mississippi State's football team following his Saturday arrest.

The 20-year-old Langston was arrested in Hattiesburg and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Forrest County Jail records show Langston spent two nights in jail before leaving Monday on $10,000 bond.

Hattiesburg police allege Langston and a passenger, 21-year-old James Jenkins of Columbus, were stopped on Interstate 59 at around 6 p.m. Saturday for a traffic violation.

Police say about a pound of alleged marijuana was found in Langston's car.

MSU spokesman Joe Galbraith said coach Dan Mullen suspended Langston for an undisclosed violation of team policy.
