NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points last night and the Denver Nuggets beat New Orleans 101-88, snapping the Hornets' three-game winning streak. Chris Paul had 19 points and 13 assists, and David West scored 18 points for New Orleans, which dropped a game behind Denver in the Western Conference standings.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Johannah Leedham scored 28 points and had six assists to help lead Franklin Pierce to a 58-39 victory over Delta State last night in the NCAA Division II semifinals. Franklin Pierce's stifling defense limited Delta State to 30 percent shooting. Delta State was led by Veronica Walker's 13 points. Bug Cooper had 12.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Last night's baseball game between Ole Miss and Southern Miss was postponed because of rainy conditions in Hattiesburg. The game has been rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. on April 22nd.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- ESPN viewers will get a look at Memphis and Mississippi when college football starts this season. The two schools have moved their season opener to Sunday, September 6th, so the game can be broadcast on the cable network. The game was originally scheduled for September 5th.
