OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Ole Miss forward Malcolm White has decided to leave the Rebel basketball team, citing personal reasons.
White, a native of Baton Rouge, La., says he wants to complete his collegiate career closer to his family.
Coach Andy Kennedy said Thursday that the university appreciated White's contributions and wished him the best in his future.
White averaged 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds while making 27 starts in 31 games this season. He led the squad with a school record for a sophomore of 43 blocked shots, which also ranked among the Southeastern Conference leaders. Over his two years at Ole Miss, he scored 280 points, grabbed 211 rebounds and had 50 blocks in 57 games.
